Mushroom Bacon Swiss Bagel

We've had it on burgers, why not a bagel?
Another fast one that is very classic and tasty.

In place of a burger, a juicy ham steak.
Mushrooms sauteed in red wine.
Crispy pork bacon.
And lovely, flavor-filled Swiss cheese.
All piled on an "everything" bagel.

To sautee my mushrooms:
I prefer baby bellas!
1 tbsp butter over medium heat, skillet
Add mushrooms and stir until they start becoming tender.
Reduce heat and add a splash of red wine.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes until liquid is reduced by half.

Cooking your bacon in the mushroom drippings or vice versa makes for a yummy flavor blend!
I also throw the ham steak in the drippings to lightly brown it.
Swiss is a hard cheese, so it needs time/heat to melt.
I lay mine on top of the ham steak as it heats.

That my friends, is a very manly sandwich.

  1. Honey child....this looks fabulously tasty! Pinning and then coming over for a taste ~ ;)

    Have a great weekend.

  2. Gahhh! You've got me drooling over this sandwich. I love everything bagels but I've never tried them like this before! I'd be thrilled if you'd come on over to Pink Recipe Box and link up at Creative Wednesdays:
