Full of Cat to: IKAT

Do you see all that cat hair??????
 In every crevice.....
EEEWWWW!!!!

I'm allergic to cats.
That is why I say "ew".

I don't think a human ever sat on this chair.
 Just cats.
It was in great shape structure wise.
And was $15, so I bought it.
The couch in the back was $30, but I'm just reselling it.

*~This was my first time attempting upholstery~*

So bare with me.

Stripping this thing was ridiculous.
The allergies aside, it was 115 out the week I decided to do it.
I didn't want the hair in the house, so in the garage I went!
Bad idea.
Heat exhaustion big time.
Plus allergy headache for two days.
It took me hours to get everything off!

The legs got a quick makeover for a more updated look.
I decided I wanted Ikat months ago and scored a deal on the fabric.

And only a few short hours to put the new on:
(Which I did indoors.)

The cushion needs a slight tightening.....
But I LOVE how it turned out!!

How'd I do?

 (That cushion will be fixed.....eventually.)

It really doesn't have a place as it is for the new house.
So he is shoved in a corner for now.
Can't wait to put it in the new living room!
This is a super comfy chair,
I'm sure it will get more human use now.

  7. Looks great! You did a fabulous job on the arms. Just a hint, if you cut your fabric the same size as the cushion (do not include seem allowance), it will be enough to make the cushion look full and tight.

  9. I love what you did, I think the white legs look fabulous but I can't believe that was your first time upholstering something. It looks so good. I have had a chairs for years that needs to be re-upholstering and I don't even dare start.

    1. I found the fabric here: http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=b1d8a123-04f5-42e0-8ded-562a5737b294
It took just under 6 yards.
