Home Inspirations {1}

"I never want to grow up!"
~Peter Pan~

Today we are making a huge step in our adult lives.
We are putting the earnest money down on our lot and home.
EEK!
We made the decision to build rather than buy our first home.
Are we nuts?
Yes.
Are we sure this is the right choice?
Absolutely.

I have spent months, MONTHS researching housing and mortgages.
When Nate was offered the position in Tucson, the first thing I started was house hunting.
This property is by a company with a pretty good reputation and in a new area.
{Not in the ghetto parts like most of the houses I looked at.}
Being in this new developing area qualified the home for a USDA Rural loan.
A government guaranteed loan with 0 down, 3.5% interest.
How could I say no to that?

I'm happy with the floor plan, the upgrades available, and the location.
It will be a 30 minute commute for Nate, but that is worth it to us.

THE BEST PART:

I'll be able to decorate and paint and pick things out and design and build!

Renting has limited so much of what we can do with the space we are in!
I've been gathering inspirations for the kids' rooms first:

THE BUNK ROOM:
I know I want Mint and Coral.
3 walls will be striped (not chevron) with the coral and one accent wall in mint.
(Accent wall will be where the beds are.)
I also love the contrast of B&W and gold accents.
Our girls will eventually have built ins, bunk beds for now.
We are calling it "the Bunk Room" as they will all share one sleeping room.
That way they can have one big room for playing.

THE PLAYROOM:
I want the play room to be able to grow and transform with my kids.
I want it very light with bright color accents.
Storage will be easily accessible and designed for quick clean ups.
Seeing as how I am an artist......
I plan on doing a large mural on one wall.
I really like the look of the paint by numbers!

RAEDIN'S ROOM:
I adore everything in this room!
Maps will be plentiful!

I plan on a mural in his room as well, can you guess with what creature?

I have way more pinned of course:
